Beads Bails & Bundles
was created in March 2009 by Pam Bazant-Jung, a native New Mexican with a love for jewelry. Having collected unusual pieces of southwestern and Native American jewelry over the years, it was a pleasure trip to Mexico with good friends that spurred the idea for Beads Bails & Bundles (BBB)
“When vacationing in Mexico I had the pleasure of meeting wonderful craftspeople selling their beautiful jewelry at the timeshare in which we stayed. I marveled at their use of stone and glass and other interesting materials and the beautiful combinations they created. I had purchased one particularly long strand and thought it would be nice to be able to wear this necklace in a variety of ways. In addition, I thought it might be interesting to combine some of my new purchases with my older pieces and come up with a new look, a new way to wear old favorites. Upon my return I ventured out to a number of jewelry supply places to find the types of oversized clasps necessary to “bundle” beads so that I could mix and match my own creations every day. To my surprise, I found none. I began to wonder, why can’t jewelry be more creative and flexible like clothing, so a person can create a new look combining different pieces and yet have a clean singular clasp, that could be worn a variety of ways, versus a lot of random clasps of different necklaces, that would become tangled and slip around on your neck. Thus the concept was born!”
For its marketability, versatility and quality the Bead Bundling concept from Beads, Bails and Bundles was recently given a first place award for non-traditional jewelry at the annual New Mexico Jeweler’s Association 2009 annual design competition, All That Glitters. Our jewelry has since been featured in Cowboys & Indians Magazine, the premier lifestyle magazine of the west, and in Albuquerque, The Magazine.
Beads, Bails & Bundles, offer an alternative to the “one off” necklaces that can be worn only one way. It offers a creative solution for people who enjoy beautiful jewelry but yet appreciate not having to “mortgage the house” to get it, want to customize their look, and have jewelry that is uniquely theirs and not to see themselves coming and going by wearing more commercial jewelry.
